L2G and YDB: Gateway of Friendship

Did you get your video in? Your donation? Awesome. Who was it for?

Sometimes, Christmas comes around and as if by cue, it feels like an opportunity for giving. You’ve got that dollar in your wallet that you’ve been keeping there for the next vending machine stop and suddenly you’re cheerfully handing it over to the Salvation Army bell ringers. You don’t know what it is about the season, but you can’t help but to be on board!

But if I can take a wild guess, I’d say that this sort of holiday impromptu giving isn’t the reason you joined up with L2G. You joined because you have an interest in seeing where that dollar goes after it gets counted from that bucket, in learning the names of the people whom you’re giving a leg-up in an otherwise too difficult time, and in learning how to invest your good deeds into in a process rather than an instance.

We love that about you! So let me take a minute to really break down our Young Detroit Builders Partnership. This is no one-stop charity! We kicked off our partnership back in October and have been building each other up and getting involved since and even before our bash.

We’re growing the relationship and have given you the opportunity to get personal this Christmas. I hope you were thinking long term when you made that video and grabbed that calculator, because we have been! We’ve got things planned well into the coming year.

These students put their hopes, their efforts, and their futures in the hands of the YDB organization. I’m talking about life-altering commitments. So get to know the faces of YDB; we’re going to be around them for a lot longer than one holiday get-together!

Look for the January newsletter for more information of what you can expect between L2G and YDB!
